Creatine (KREE-ah-tin)
     The average person stores about 115 grams of creatine. It is stored (mostly in muscle) as both creatine and creatine phosphate. It is synthesized (made from) from the amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine. The end product of creatine metabolism is creatinine which is excreted.

Creatinine (kree-AT-i-neen)
     The end product of creatine metabolism. Creatinine is found in urine and blood. Urinary creatinine output is one measure of total muscle mass. Large quantities of creatinine are found in the blood in advanced renal disease.
